Hiking in the Kleinwalsertal valley

At the border station Walserschanze the path leads down to the upper entrance of the gorge (Kasse Berg). The tour of the Breitachklamm takes about 1 hour. Return from Tiefenbach by regular bus (change in Oberstdorf) or on the same way back to Gasthof Walserschanze.

From the Walserhaus, ascent over the Gerbeweg and the Rohrweg into the Oberhirschegg. Continue via Schöntel and the mountain station of the Heuberglift along the upper mountain path to the Bühlalpe. From there descent via the Maisäss to Mittelberg.

Beautiful scenic hike without significant slopes. From the bus stop in Baad on the circular path to the Bärguntal to the Bärgunthütte and on the circular path back to the valley.

From Hirschegg near the church into Dürenbodenstrasse and down to Breitach, into the tributary to the Schwabenhütte, downstream towards Riezlern via the Jahnhütte into the district of Letze and back via the Leidtobelbrücke to Hirschegg.

Easy, varied walking tour; worth seeing: waterfalls, whirlpools and natural bridge. From Riezlern over the Leo-Müller-Straße and the Fellhornweg to the Alte Schwenderücke and along the Schwarzwasser Bachweg in the direction of Mahdtalhaus. Take the left turn and follow the Karolinenweg until you reach the Natural Bridge. Over the Kesselschwandweg up to the Egg and at the social centre over the ravine to Riezlern village.

The hike into the Gemsteltal begins at the bus stop "Gemse" between Mittelberg and Baad, where the Gemstelweg branches off to the left and leads over the Breitach to the confluence of Gemstel and Breitach. From here you enter the Gemsteltal. Rewarded with magnificent views, you reach the Gemstel-Schönesboden natural Alpine pasture in about half an hour. After a small rest with a view of the Kleiner Widderstein, the Bärenkopf and the Walmendingerhorn, you hike towards the end of the valley to the Hinterer Gemstelhütte. After another rest, you go back the same way.

Pleasant but challenging hike with beautiful panoramic views of the Allgäu Alps, the Ifen and Gottesackergebiet and the via ferrata. From the Kanzelwand mountain station via the Rossgund- and Kühgundalpe to the Fiderepasshütte (2,065 m). Descent via the Vorderwildenalpe, Fluchtalpe and Innere Wiesalpe into the Höfle. From there the Höflerbrücke and the Höflerweg into the village.

The highest mountain in the Kleinwalsertal valley valley; the summit ascent runs through rocky terrain and requires sure-footedness, no fear of heights and good fitness. If climbing to the summit seems too difficult, this tour can also be made as a hike around the Widderstein. A light, very nice tour. From Mittelberg inward via the Sonnhalde to Bödmen. Continue down the valley and along the Gemstelweg into the Gemsteltal. Over the Gemstelhütten up to the Gemstelpass and on to the Widdersteinhütte. Possible ascent to the summit (2536m) or further via the high alpine pass into the Bärgunt valley and further to Baad.

A light mountain tour, also for beginners, with beautiful views of Hirschegg, Mittelberg, Baad and over to the Ifen. From the Kanzelwand mountain station via the Adlerhorst to the Kuhgehrensattel and the Kuhgehrenspitze (1,910 m). From there down the Innere Kuhgehrenalpe into Wildental, past the inner and lower Wiesalpe and the Bergheim Moser into the Wildentalstraße and over the Sonnhalde into the village.

A beautiful, not too difficult tour; good level of fitness and a steady footing for the summit path required. From Mittelberg via Moosstraße and Sonnhalde to Bödmen. Continue along the Gemstelweg into the Gemsteltal. Over the Upper Gemstelalpe and the Sterzer Hut to the Geißhornjoch. Climb to the summit of Geißhorn (2,366 m). Continue along the Schwabengrat to the Mindelheimer Hut and Kemptner Scharte. Descent via Hinterwildenalpe into Wildental. Passing the Fluchtalpe, Inner Wiesalpe into Höfle. Over the Höflerbrücke and the Höflerweg to Mittelberg.

From the Kanzelwand mountain station via the Kühgundalpe to the Fiderepasshütte (2,065 m). From there along the Krumbacher hill path to the Mindelheimer Hut (2,058 m). Descent via the Kemptner Scharte into the Wildental. Passing the Fluchtalpe Innere Wiesalpe - Untere Wiesalpe and Bergheim Moser into the Schwendle. Over the Wildentalstraße to Bödmen and over the Sonnhalde back to Mittelberg.
